Please take a few moments to read over the description of each board position
and committee chair.

President
Attend Committee meetings if deemed necessary
Lead Membership meetings
Lead Board of Director meetings

Find speakers for membership meetings (work with Speakers Bureau
Coordinator)
Speak as requested
Supervise, oversee, assist and direct the efforts of the PACE Ambassador.
Vice President
Assist President in running association.
Supervise Bar Coordinator position.
Take over the President's Duties under conditions such as absence or
illness.
Assume the Presidency after the President has served a two-year term.
Secretary
Take minutes at each Board meeting.
Prepare minutes for each Board member to review and revise as necessary
prior to Board meeting.
Prepare credentialing forms for GAP delegates to the NFPA convention
Prepare and retain a file on all Board and Coordinator positions - develop a
cook book for future Boards to use as a guideline.
Review and revise by-laws when needed.
Treasurer
Dues Collection - dues amounts are set by the board of directors annually.
The GAP office mails invoices for the following years dues in December for
the next fiscal year which starts in January.
Non-payment of fees - The Treasurer assists the GAP office in the collection
of fees that have been invoiced by the GAP office at least twice, but not paid
in full.
Annual Budget - The Treasurer assists the board of directors in monitoring
the overall budget for long range planning. Also, the Treasurer may suggest
changes in procedures or fee adjustments, which would prove beneficial to the
Association. The Treasurer may be asked to determine if the Association can
afford to make a donation or sponsor an event.
Financials - The Executive Director reconciles the bank statement monthly,
deposits all payments, writes all checks, and provides a monthly financial
report to the board of directors. The CPA takes these monthly GAP records and
the Quicken disk and prepares federal and state tax documents.
Other Duties and Authority
In addition to the Executive Board of Directors, the following positions are
currently active:

Representative
Act as chief liaison between GAP and NFPA
Report national news to GAP BOD and the General GAP Membership
Submit GAP news to NFPA
Attend NFPA conventions to represent and vote on behalf of GAP
Prepare applicable documents for convention
Prepare agenda and discussion topics as necessary and relevant for NFPA
conventions
Review and understand the proposed Agenda and Discussion topics submitted by
other Paralegal organizations and published by NFPA
Inform GAP General Membership of Agenda and Discussion topics, and then obtain
general input as to how Georgia should vote on the same topics at convention
Attend and represent GAP at region meetings.
Assist GAP President at general membership meetings as needed

Train under the NFPA Primary Representative
Attend NFPA conventions to learn the responsibilities of a delegate and to
serve as an alternate to the Primary whenever necessary
Review and understand the proposed Agenda and Discussion topics submitted by
other Paralegal organizations and published by NFPA
If for any reason the NFPA Primary Representative cannot complete the term,
the Secondary will continue as GAPs represenatative

Oversee all member coordinator

Assist member coordinators in identifying how best to support each other on
projects

Write and edit stories and articles submitted for quarterly newsletter
Coordinate articles coming from various committee heads
Coordinate printing schedule with printer through Executive Director
Coordinate ad placement with Executive Director
Coordinate membership and potential membership mailing through Executive
Director.
Work with Web Design Coordinator to keep GAPs website updated
Assist Directors with design and creation of collateral as needed
Review and edit annual membership directory for accuracy
Director of Pro Bono
Recruit and retain committee members and volunteers to plan, organize and
implement pro bono programs
Maintain Pro Bono Committee meeting minutes, hour reporting forms, and
volunteer directory
Design and implement pro bono programs, workshops, and training sessions and
recruit volunteers
Promote and educate the community and individuals regarding pro bono public
services
Foster relationships with attorneys, firms, paralegal schools, and pro bono
organizations
Seek sponsorship for pro bono projects
Submit a budget to the GAP board for approval
Submit articles regarding pro bono activities to the GAP newsletter
Supervise annual pro bono award nominations and presentation (if budgeted)
Attend National Pro Bono Conference (if budgeted)
Submit reports to NFPA Pro Bono Coordinator including hour reporting forms
Supervise, oversee, assist and direct the efforts of the Community Service
Coordinator
Director of CLE
Maintain Annual CLE schedule
Organize seminar location, speakers, and meals
Organize audio/visual needs
Create collateral for seminar registration with Executive Director.
Coordinate member mailings and registration response with Executive

Communicate all sponsorship opportunities to sustaining members and work with
management office to secure sponsorships

Monitor and expand upon current GAP
member benefits
Seek out and add additional GAP member benefits
Publicize GAP member benefits to make existing members aware of their benefits
and market to potential members

Outreach Coordinator
Contact all current and former GAP
members who are outside of the metro area to determine what needs they have and
how we can better meet those needs
Determine locations where there is the highest concentration of membership
interest and maintain data on inquiries
Implement programs, events and / or meetings in locations outside the metro
area
This position with require travel within Georgia
Membership Retention Coordinator
Contact former members who have not
renewed membership and keep board appraised of any actions needed to regain lost
members
Work with board to develop corrective action plan
Use surveys, polls, comment boxes, etc. to discover any issues that may affect
member retention
Membership Growth Coordinator
Develop and implement membership
campaigns
Work with Director of Membership to develop marketing plan
Work with all other member coordinators to follow leads for growing membership
Mentor
Program Coordinator
Further develop GAPs mentor program
Facilitate pairing of members for mentorship
Maintain relationship with mentorship participants
Community Service Coordinator
Coordinate the 2 traditional community
service projects GAP sponsors each year
In addition, identify and organize community service opportunities for GAP
membership participation, particularly those already involving the legal
community
PACE Ambassador
(must be an RP)
Keep current with ongoing national PACE
activities
Encourage and educate GAP membership concerning PACE
Supervise PACE scholarship nominations and award presentation

Maintain relationship with local Bar
associations as permitted by their membership rules
Attend Bar functions as appropriate to further develop and maintain
relationships
Seek out volunteer opportunities for GAP to work with Bar associations and
advise the appropriate Directors

Coordinator
Consult with all GAP committees that are
planning an event such as a social, meeting, conference or convention.
Maintaining GAPs yearly event calendar
Develop relationships with and maintain database on venues, hotels,
restaurants, caterers, etc. to secure contracts for GAP events
Web Design
Coordinator
Work with management company
representative to keep GAPs website current
Explore ways to enhance the efficiency and aesthetics of the website
E-News
Coordinator
Responsible for preparing GAP E-news and
email announcements to members, following the guidelines of E-news dissemination
as adopted by the board;
Edit the content of all E-news items
Work with management office to maintain and update GAPs membership email list
Position requires above-average computer competency and an eye for design and
layout
Collateral
Coordinator
Responsible for overseeing the design
and production of all promotional materials, logos, brochures and other printed
materials.
Oversee logo and image development
Annually review all collateral and determine if changes or updates are
necessary
Work with membership coordinators to make sure that they have the appropriate
information available to them for marketing to new and current members
Position requires knowledge of layouts and graphics

Determine directory deadline and enforce production schedule
Will assist management office with the collection of ad revenue
Public
Relations Coordinator
Work with the membership coordinators and
collateral coordinator in creating and updating content of marketing materials
Maintain information relating to other local and national paralegal
associations
Explore opportunities for publicizing GAP activities and achievements
