The Georgia Association of Paralegals takes pleasure in announcing its 35th anniversary. In 1973, a group of Atlanta area paralegals joined together to form the Atlanta Association of Legal Assistants, Inc. (“AALA”). Their objective was to provide support for persons entering this new field, and to promote the profession to the legal community. In January, 1976, AALA became the Georgia Association of Legal Assistants, Inc. ("GALA"), and in 1997, GALA became the Georgia Association of Paralegals, Inc.

GAP's 35th Anniversary Party will be held at Fernbank’s Martinis & IMAX on August 22. We will have a private area with hors d'oeuvres from 6:00 to 8:00 and then will have tickets for the 8:00 showing of the IMAX movie “Antarctica”. Tickets must be purchased online through the form below – there will be no ticket sales at the door. The cost per ticket is $15.00 for members, $20.00 for non-members. Tickets must be purchased by August 12 and will be available at our “will call” registration table on the evening of the event.

Travel to the southernmost part of the world to witness the spectacular views and icy mysteries of the highest, driest and coldest continent on Earth. An underwater ballet involving penguins is just the tip of the iceberg in this in-depth look at the frozen continent of Antarctica.

Aerial views of enormous glacial peaks and marine dives through crystalline caverns give viewers a complete tour of this amazing region. This five-story film experience illustrates the magnificence of the crisp, blue skies and bright, white ice along with the deep crevasses and towering mountains of the Antarctic.

The only place on Earth with no permanent human inhabitants, Antarctica is home to an incredible diversity of life that thrives in one of the harshest environments, giving an air of wonderment to this delicate ecosystem.
